PETALING JAYA: When Syahrul Azwari Ibrahim first broke into the Malaysian football team at the age of 18, fans quickly tagged him as a star in the making.

Endowed with a tough physique and silky dribbling skills, the 1.75m tall right winger from Tanah Merah, Kelantan, was a delight to watch as he bedazzled defenders with his mazy runs.
