ALOR SETAR: Kedah had good news ahead of next month’s Malaysia Cup competition.
Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak (pic) has agreed to extend his contract with the team for another two years.
Aidil cited his success in guiding Kedah to qualify for next season’s AFC Cup as the main factor that led him to stay on, apart from his love for the players and supporters of the Red Eagles.
“Recently, I held talks with the Kedah Football Association (KFA) and, so far, we have agreed. I am just waiting for the right time to sign the new contract, ” said Aidil.
Besides, he said, the management’s efforts to improve certain aspects of the team also influenced his decision to stay with Kedah.
“It is understood that we will retain about 90 per cent of the current players. I am thankful to the team management for continuing to place their trust in me to handle the team, ” he said.
Previously, Aidil’s future with Kedah was shrouded in uncertainty when it was rumoured that the Singapore-born coach was being eyed by several M-League outfits as well as teams from Indonesia and Singapore. — Bernama
