PETALING JAYA: Unheralded UiTM pulled up their socks to stun Terengganu 2-1 but coach Frank Bernhardt (pic) is far from happy. His team, who went down 1-0 to Perak last week, fought valiantly to beat the visitors with goals from Arif Anwar (fourth minute) and Victor Nirennold (60th). Terengganu skipper Lee Tuck replied in the 38th minute.
Although it’s three points in the bag for the third placed team, the German coach was not pleased with referee Mohd Zamzaidi Katimin.
“We will be sending a report because it is not only one decision but many that went against us. The fouls, calls for penalty and many others, ” said Bernhardt.
“It kind of disrupted our game and that is not good. Yes, we got the three points but this should not happen. I hope something can be done.”
Bernhardt also commented on the penalty conceded by his goalkeeper Mohd Azfar Arif Sukri in the 37th minute.
“We had a good start, got the lead and then we made a mistake and paid the penalty. Became 1-1. From that moment, it was a hard fight. Not beautiful anymore, too much fighting, we had problems to get danger situations covered.
“Every player makes mistakes. If a goalkeeper makes a mistake, it is serious. I do not want to put the hammer on him, but it was not necessary. I hope he learns from it.
“Good news is that we have nothing to do with relegation anymore. We will see what to do next.
Terengganu coach Nafuzi Zain said his team were punished by their opponents for making too many mistakes.
