PETALING JAYA: Perak goalkeeper Hafizul Hakim Khairul Nizam Jothy looks set to be another player joining the team exodus next season.

The Seladang have lost several key players – skipper Nasir Basharudin, Brendan Gan Hussin Eldor, Nor Hakim Hassan, and Hafizul is touted to be the next to leave the Ipoh-based team.

It is learnt that the 26-year-old is being monitored by several M-League teams and Thai clubs.

“I’m waiting for the team management to make an offer... I can only decide once I get a concrete offer. I’ve heard that there are teams who are interested to sign me but I’m unsure about it, ” said Hafizul.

“For now, I will stay focus in my training and get ready for the pre-season as I wait for a contract.

“I want to be physically and mentally ready for the new season.”

Hafizul said the departure of several key players from the team is a concern and hopes the management would sign new players to strengthen the squad.

“But we can’t expect immediate results from the new players. A three-year project saw us win the Malaysia Cup in 2018 and reach the FA Cup final in 2019.”

The Silver State ended their 2019 season empty-handed as they could only finish fifth in the 12-team Super League; reach the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Cup; and the final of the FA Cup.
