Mediapro to appeal Italy ruling on Serie A rights tender

MILAN (Reuters) - Spanish multimedia group Mediapro will appeal an Italian judge's decision to cancel its tender for the TV broadcasting rights of Serie A soccer matches, the company said on Thursday.

Mediapro is trying to on-sell the rights to Italy's top league but a Milan judge cancelled the tender this week, saying it breached antitrust rules. The Italian unit of broadcaster Sky had challenged the terms of the tender.
