‘Ultras Malaya’ have let the true fans down

The extreme Malaysia football team fans - Ultras Malaya - letting off smoke bombs and flares during the World Cup qualifying match between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia in Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday.

LAST December, I went to Bangkok with my colleague Eric Samuel to watch Malaysia play against Thailand in an Asian Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup final first-leg match.

Malaysia lost 2-0 and the match was nothing to shout about.
