PETALING JAYA: Hotshot Indra Putra Mahayuddin was the hero at the Shah Alam Stadium two years ago.

Then, the 32-year-old former international’s extra-time winner handed Kelantan a 3-2 win over Armed Forces in a pulsating Malaysia Cup final.

At the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday, Felda United will be counting on Indra Putra to repeat his heroics in the FA Cup final against Pahang.

“The 2012 Malaysia Cup final will go down as one of my most memorable moments,” said Indra Putra on Thursday.

However, the football nomad, who has played for six different teams since making his debut with Perak in 1998, is still craving for more success.

“I have not lost the desire to win titles. It is a great satisfaction to leave a mark with all the teams I have played for,” said Indra Putra, who will be playing in his record eighth FA Cup final since the inaugural competition in 1990.

Indra Putra said he has fond memories playing on the big stage but his best was the spectacular strike against the soldiers in extra time, which enabled the Red Warriors’ to achieve the historic treble (Super League, FA and Malaysia Cup) in 2012.

Indra Puta has won numerous accolades, including the Premier One League titles with Perak (2002, 2003); Super League with Pahang (2004), Kelantan (2012); FA Cup with Pahang (2016), Kelantan (2012, 2013); and Malaysia Cup with Kelantan (2010, 2012).

“I’m very excited to be in the final again. I’m all fired up and hope to win my fourth winners’ medal,” he said.

In the 2012 Malaysia Cup final, man-of-the-match Norshahrul Idlan Talaha scored in the 43rd and 50th minutes before Indra Putra sealed victory for Kelantan in the 96th minute. Forces’ goals were scored by Rezal Zambery Yahya (50th) and Marlon Alex James (62nd).
