PETALING JAYA: Paris Olympian Nur Aisyah Mohd Zubir (pic) continued to shine for Terengganu in the National Track Cycling Championships in Johor.
Nur Aisyah bagged her second gold after romping to a comfortable win in the women’s elite points race final at the Johor Velodrome in Iskandar Puteri last night.
The 27-year-old won all the sprint races to finish with 64 points, leaving teammate Dahlia Hazwanie Hasyim far behind for the silver with 39 points.
Johor’s Khairunnisa Aleeya Saifulnizam took the bronze with 21 points.
Nur Aisyah had claimed the women’s team pursuit gold medal with Terengganu team on the opening day of competition on Wednesday.
Nur Aisyah will be competing in the scratch event this weekend where she will start as the favourite having won silver in the event at the Asian Championships in Nilai earlier this year.
Rising track endurance rider Mohd Hafiq Jafri of Melaka picked up the gold with 54 points in the men’s elite points race final.
Perak’s Mohd Yusri Shaari picked up the silver with 43 points and Abdul Azim Aliyas of Negri Sembilan’s 40 points earned him the bronze.
All three riders are in the national track endurance team.
