Ex-national cyclist Farina pilots visually impaired Suraiya to gold

PETALING JAYA: Former national sprinter Farina Shawati Mohd Adnan took her unique career to new heights when she helped visually impaired cyclist Nur Suraiya Mohd Zamri to win gold at the Asian Para Games stage.

Suraiya and her pilot Farina clocked 1:13.434s to push fellow Malaysians Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais-Nurul Suhada Zainal into second spot in the women’s (B) 1km time trial event at Chun’an Jieshou Sports Centre Velodrome in Hangzhou yesterday.
