SYDNEY, ‌Jan 8 (Reuters) - Australia ‌beat England by ‌five wickets on the fifth day ‍of the fifth ‍and ‌final Ashes test on ‍Thursday ​to seal a ⁠4-1 series triumph.

The hosts won ‌the first three ⁠tests ‍in the series in ‍Perth, Brisbane and ‌Adelaide to secure series honours and ensure they would retain the Ashes urn until ‌they next tour England in 2027.
