Golf travel and lifestyle expo set for next March

The Starling mall in Petaling Jaya will host the expo in March.

THE local golf industry looks set to make an interesting start to 2020 when an inaugural expo will be held in Selangor in the first quarter of next year. And it will embrace more than one sector.

The event will come in the form of the ParGolf Travel & Lifestyle Expo, which indeed will break new ground when it takes place from March 6 to 8,2020, at the Starling, a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.

The three-day expo is set to bring together exhibitors from golf, travel and lifestyle sectors under one roof for the first time in Malaysia and is being organised by Write Track Publishing & Communications (WTPC), the proprietors of ParGolf magazine and online golf media content.

“We aim to make the ParGolf Travel & Lifestyle Expo the foremost show of its kind in Malaysia, ” said WTPC managing director Terrence Loh.

“The expo will provide an avenue for golf clubs from around the region, as well as companies from the travel industry and lifestyle brands to reach their target markets in a convenient and fun environment.

“The Starling mall is the ideal venue for the expo as it is located in one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Klang Valley, with many golf clubs just a short drive away, ” he added.

The ParGolf Travel & Lifestyle Expo will provide a one-stop experience for golfers to view and purchase golfing deals, holiday packages and club memberships directly from the golf clubs themselves in Malaysia and South-East Asia.

“In addition, ” said Loh, “the expo will provide an avenue for non-golfers who are interested in taking up the game to find out more about the sport, including lessons, equipment and alternatives to club memberships.”

Developed by See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd, the Starling is located in the hub of Damansara Uptown in Petaling Jaya and named after the gregarious starling bird. The mall has a lushly landscaped park on the ground floor and a Sky Park on the rooftop, which helped it earn the moniker of “The Mall in a Park.”

Inside, the five-storey mall boasts nature-inspired design that plays on birdlife and park themes, along with architectural features that optimise natural lighting, thus making it an ideal place for families to meet and expos to be held, where people can interact and wind down.

In addition to a host of retail outlets, the Starling also offers food and beverage outlets with al fresco spaces and views of the park that visitors to the expo will no doubt enjoy.
