G. Ramkumar (right) settled for the silver medal after a TKO by Thailand’s Apichet Saenset in the welterweight (69kg) category at the Wunna Theikdi Boxing Stadium on Saturday.

NAYPYITAW: Inexperience proved to be boxer G. Ramkumar’s downfall after he was handed a technical knockout by Thailand’s Apichet Saenset in the welterweight (69kg) category at the Wunna Theikdi Boxing Stadium on Saturday.

The Klang pugilist lasted less than a minute in the first round of the title match after Apichet’s upper-cut took the wind out of Ramkumar, forcing him to retire and settle for the silver medal.
