BANGKOK: Sin Li Jane and her teammates capped a fine SEA Games campaign for Malaysian bowling by striking gold in the women’s team event on Friday (Dec 19).

Li Jane, Natasha Roslan, Adania Mohd Redzwan and Nur Hazirah Ramli brought their A-game to beat Indonesia’s Alisha Nabila Larasati, Sharon Adelina Limansantoso, Putty Insavila Armein and Aldila Indryati 817-773 in the final at the Ratchachotin Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl Alley.

The victory marked Malaysia’s second gold medal in bowling after Rafiq Ismail and Syazirol Shansuddin clinched the men’s doubles title on Dec 16.

Earlier, the Malaysian women quartet booked their place in the final with a superb 865-817 win over Thailand’s Chawakorn Wutti, Phattaranan Pingchittapraphai, Pinmanus Khumchaipom and Ramita Samtong in the semi-finals.

The men’s team, however, had to settle for bronze after losing to the Philippines in the semi-finals.
