Rafiq relieved to roll into top 32 as he braces for real battle at World C’ships

PETALING JAYA: National bowler Rafiq Ismail (pic) says he feels a sense of relief after safely navigating his way into the top-32 stage of the men’s singles event at the IBF World Championships in Hong Kong but insists the real battle begins now.

“I’m relieved to be part of the top 32. However, when you are in the next round, you have to start from scratch,” said the 28-year-old, who has been one of Malaysia’s most consistent performers this season.
