PETALING JAYA: Sin Li Jane scores a major win and etches her name in the history books after winning her first major title in the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA).

The 32-year-old bagged the US Open title after beating Latvia’s Diana Zavjalova 226-214 in the stepladder final at the Royal Pin Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis on Tuesday (June 18).

Li Jane is the first Malaysian and South-East Asian to win the US Open, and the second Asian to do so.

The first Asian to win it was Japan’s Shinobu Saitoh in 1982.

She takes home US$60,000 (RM283,000) and also her third PWBA title of the year.

Earlier, she had won the Greater Nashville Classic on May 31 and the Journal Rockford Open on May 11.
