Have faith: Reigning world singles bowling champion Rafiq Ismail has not won any tournament this year but national coach Holloway Cheah (inset) is not worried as he knows why the bowler is going through a lean spell.

PETALING JAYA: National bowling coach Holloway Cheah is not perturbed by reigning world singles champion Rafiq Ismail’s barren spell so far this year.

Indeed, the wily 76-year-old coach, knows what’s he’s talking about. And he’s ready to wager that Rafiq, who ended Malaysia’s 39-year wait for a gold medal in the world championships last year, will surely come good this year even though he has yet to win any tournament.
