PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's men's 3x3 basketball team are one win away from reaching their target after advancing to the quarter-finals of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on Monday (July 28).
Ee Kee Lip's men secured their place in the last eight after beating Jamaica 21-15 in their final Pool B match at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Armadillo.
Earlier, Malaysia came agonisingly close to upsetting Pool B winners England before going down 21-19.
The win over Jamaica saw Malaysia finish second in the group with 103 points, just two behind England on 105. Singapore were third with 88 points.
Under the competition format, group winners advance directly to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams contest the quarter-finals.
Malaysia will face Pool A's third-placed side Scotland for a place in the semi-finals, while Singapore take on Pool A runners-up New Zealand.
Australia joined England in advancing directly to the semi-finals.
