PETALING JAYA: KL Dragons Basketball Academy continued their winning ways in the inaugural Malaysia Pro League (MPL) by thrashing King Pinas Asia 120-78 for their fourth straight win.
Towering Canadian forward Daniel Eves (pic) starred for the Dragons with 24 points and 16 rebounds at the Maba Stadium yesterday. John Ng and Wan Chee Yuen both chipped in with 14 points each.
RJ Edward Argamino and Peter De Ocampo impressed with 31 and 30 points respectively for winless Pinas Asia.
It was the second big loss for Pinas Asia, a guest team from the Philippines, in as many days. They were whipped 52-145 by Kampar-based Verve Club on Friday night.
The Dragons lead the six-team league with eight points, securing them a place in the semi-finals. Their last round-robin match is against Penang Stallions today.
Verve, powered by Canadian signing Lufile Chadrack, moved up to joint second with Farmco Touch Up with seven points after edging PRG Eagles 87-84 yesterday.
In another match, Farmco beat Penang Stallions 122-71.
The top four teams at the end of today’s round-robin stage will play in the semi-finals from Oct 27-29.
