Yuqi returns, Aaron-Soh back as M'sia field Kai Wun-Sze Fei for showdown

PETALING JAYA: China’s Shi Yuqi is back, and so are Malaysia’s Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik as both teams name strong line-ups for their Thomas Cup quarter-final clash on May 1 at 4pm (Malaysian time).

Yuqi, who has recovered from gastroenteritis, will take on Leong Jun Hao, while Aaron-Wooi Yik face a tough test against world No. 1 pair Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang at Forum Horsens, Denmark.

Malaysia have also fielded a scratch pairing of Goh Sze Fei-Tee Kai Wun in the second doubles against world No. 11 Chen Boyang-Liu Yi.

The remaining matches are as expected, with Justin Hoh up against Li Shifeng and Lee Zii Jia taking on Weng Hongyang.

On paper, defending champions China are favourites, but Malaysia can still pull off a win if they deliver in both doubles and steal a point in the singles.
