Letshanaa storms into Indonesian Masters semis

PETALING JAYA: Women’s singles shuttler K. Letshanaa continued her fine run in the Indonesian Masters by storming into the semi-finals.

Letshanaa, who pulled off a sensational win over Canada’s world No. 12 Michelle Li in the second round, stood tall again to beat Taiwan’s world No. 37 Huang Yu-hsun 21-17, 21-18 in the last eight at Istora Senayan in Jakarta on Friday (Jan 23).

It was a huge breakthrough for the world No. 42 as she has reached the last four of a World Tour Super 500 competition for the first time in her career.

The 22-year-old Letshanaa will next take on Thailand’s world No. 36 Pitchamon Opatniputh for a place in the final.
