Shock first-round exit for Aaron-Wooi Yik at Indonesian Masters


PETALING JAYA: It was a blow for the national camp on the opening day of the Indonesian Masters when top seeds Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik crashed out in the first round on Tuesday (Jan 20).

The world No. 2 men’s doubles pair went down to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard 22-20, 19-21, 16-21 after a gruelling 63-minute battle.

It was also the first defeat for Aaron-Wooi Yik against the world No. 28 Danish pair, having won their two previous encounters.
