PETALING JAYA: World junior champions Kang Khai Xing-Aaron Tai made sure Malaysia would go back home with the men's doubles title after reaching the final of the Syed Modi International on Saturday (Nov 29).
The sixth seeds knocked out Russians Rodion Alimov-Maksim Ogloblin 21-15, 22-20 in the semi-finals in Lucknow.
They will face compatriots Chia Weijie-Lwi Sheng Hao, who ousted Mohd Faiq Masawi-Lok Hong Quan 21-5, 16-21, 21-17 in an all-Malaysian semi-final match.
Both Khai Xing-Aaron and Weijie-Sheng Hao have met once before at last month's Malaysian Super 100, where the former won easily by beating their opponents 21-18, 21-7 in the final.
Malaysia's challenge is over in the women's doubles with the defeat of Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting. They lost 11-21, 15-21 to top seeds Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand.
