PETALING JAYA: Independent shuttlers Goh V Shem-Choi Sol-gyu and Jimmy Wong-Lai Pei Jing suffered heartbreak after missing out on their maiden titles in the Indonesian Masters.

V Shem and his South Korean partner Sol-gyu came agonisingly close in the men's doubles but were narrowly denied by homesters Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin, going down 18-21, 21-17, 22-24 in 66 minutes in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra on Sunday (Oct 26).

It was the pair's first final since combining a year ago.

Jimmy-Pei Jing's wait for a title continued too after they were beaten 21-16, 19-21, 3-21 by home pair Marwan Faza-Aisyah Pranata in the mixed doubles.

The duo could not get the breakthrough they had hoped for in their sixth final appearance since forming a partnership in March.
