PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah were unable to build on the mometum from their Arctic Open triumph in Finland.

Their hopes of progressing further in the Denmark Open were dashed after they went down 18-21, 9-21 to Japan’s Arisa Igarashi-Chiharu Shida in the second round in Odense on Thursday (Oct 16).

The defeat ended their bid to match last year’s achievement, when they reached the quarter-finals before losing to Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi.

Earlier, Go Pei Kee-Teoh Mei Xing had also fallen in the first round.
