Soon Huat-Shevon off to winning start at Denmark Open


PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie got their Denmark Open campaign off to a winning start after defeating Taiwan’s Lu Che-ming-Hung En-tzu in the first round on Tuesday (Oct 14).

The husband-and-wife duo, seeded eighth in the tournament, cruised past Che-ming and En-tzu with a 21-14, 21-17 victory at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense.

They await the winners of the match between Denmark’s Jesper Toft-Amalie Magelund and Japan’s Yuichi Shimogami-Sayaka Hobara to determine their second-round opponents.
