Faiq-Hong Quan clinch Malaysian International Series crown


PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Mohd Faiq Masawi-Lok Hong Quan gave the national camp plenty to cheer about after capturing the Malaysian International Series title at the Indoor Arena Educity Sports Complex in Johor on Sunday (Sept 14).

The duo, Malaysia’s sole representatives in the finals, rose to the occasion against South Korea’s Kim Jae-hyeon-Lee Sang-won.

Top seeds Faiq-Hong Quan lived up to the billing by battling to a 21-16, 19-21, 21-14 win in 61 minutes.

The victory was all the more meaningful as the pair had fallen in the semi-finals of the same tournament last year.
