PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun’s hopes of reaching the World Championships semi-finals were dashed after they went down fighting to world No. 1 Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho of South Korea.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun pushed the powerful Koreans hard before losing narrowly 21-23, 23-21, 15-21 in 68 minutes at the Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle in Paris on Friday (Aug 29).

Despite the defeat, the world No. 7 pair can hold their heads high after giving top seeds Seung-jae-Won-ho, who have been the best men’s doubles duo in the world this year, a run for their money.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun can return home with some consolation, having reached the last eight in the world meet for the first time.
