Aaron-Wooi Yik clinch Thai Open in hard-fought win over Danish pair


PETALING JAYA: National men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik bounced back from a game down to clinch their second title of the year at the Thailand Open.

World No. 5 Aaron-Wooi Yik held their ground well against Denmark's William Kryger-Christian Faust, winning 20-22, 21-17, 21-12 in an hour at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday (May 18).

It was Aaron-Wooi Yik's second win against the world No. 75 Danish pair after defeating them at the Indonesian Masters first round in January.

It was also the two-time Olympics bronze medallists' second title of the year after capturing the Asian Championships title in April 2025.

Aaron-Wooi Yik's last win on the World Tour was at the Korean Masters in November 2024.
