Tough All-England debut for Jun Hao, Su Yin-Pang Ron

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a disappointing debut for men's singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao and mixed doubles pair Cheng Su Yin-Hoo Pang Ron as they made early exits at the All-England on Tuesday.

Jun Hao, who skipped the German Open and Orleans Masters to stay fresh, struggled against defending champion Jonatan Christie.

Despite guidance from Danish coach Kenneth Jonassen, he found it difficult to keep up with the Indonesian star and bowed out after a 41-minute battle, losing 11-21, 19-21.

Su Yin, who recently recovered from an ankle injury sustained at the Orleans Masters last week, also faced a tough outing.

Paired with Pang Ron, she struggled to match South Korea’s Ki Dong-ju and Jeong Na-eun, eventually going down 17-21, 18-21 in 36 minutes.
