Tang Jie-Ee Wei stage incredible comeback to reach China Masters semis


PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei pulled off a miraculous comeback win to book their spot in the semi-finals of the China Masters.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei were behind 1-12 and 11-20 in the second game against home pair Guo Xinwa-Chen Fanghui but managed to claw themselves back to come away with a 14-21, 23-21, 21-16 victory at the Shenzhen Gymnasium on Friday (Nov 22).

The world No. 10 pair will next take on world No. 2 and home favourites Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping for a place in the final.

Meanwhile, there was further joy for Malaysia when Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin also reached the last four after beating Taiwan's Chen Cheng-kuan-Hsu Yin-hui 21-10, 21-16.

World No. 23 Pang Ron-Su Yin have now made it into the last four of a World Tour Super 750 competition for the first time and will face Hong Kong's world No. 7 Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet.
