PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King fell at the final hurdle of the Spain Masters in Madrid on Sunday.

Arif-Roy King battled hard against Sabar Karyaman-Moh Reza Pahlevi but could not stop the Indonesians from securing a 21-18, 17-21, 21-19 win in 52 minutes.

The Malaysian pair led 19-18 in the third game but could not convert the advantage as Sabar-Reza secured three points in a row to win their first title this year.

A knee injury to Roy King kept the world No. 65 out of action for three months before he made a comeback at the Swiss Open in Basel last week.
