Tang Jie-Ee Wei clinch runners-up spot in Thai Masters

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei's run in the Thailand Masters has ended with a runners-up finish.

World No. 9 Tang Jie-Ee Wei lost 12-21, 18-21 to home favourites and 2021 world champions Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Sapsiree Taerattanachai in the final in Bangkok on Sunday (Feb 4).

It was still a decent outing for the pair after they suffered three consecutive second round defeats in the Malaysian Open, Indian Open and Indonesian Masters last month.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei are the only Malaysians to reach a final this year and also the only Malaysians to make it past the second round in Thailand.
