Badminton: Pearly-Thinaah smash into HK Open finals

PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah stormed into the Hong Kong Open women's doubles final.

World No. 10 Pearly-Thinaah were in commanding form throughout their last four match against world No. 11 Thai sisters Benyapa Aimsaard-Nuntakarn Aimsaard and came away with a 21-13, 21-18 win at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Kowloon on Saturday (Sept 16).

Pearly-Thinaah have now made it into their second final this year after finishing runners-up at the Malaysian Masters in May.

The pair will seek to go one better against either Indonesia's World Championships silver medallists Apriyani Rahayu-Siti Fadia Ramadhanti or Denmark's world No. 20 Maiken Fruergaard-Sara Thygesen in the title match tomorrow (Sept 17).
