Yew Sin-Ee Yi storm into Asian Championships final


PETALING JAYA: Independent men's doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi have stunned Japan's 2021 world champions Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi 21-16, 26-24 on Saturday (April 29) to storm into the Asian Championships final in Dubai.

It was world No. 8 Yew Sin-Ee Yi's second big scalp of the tournament after toppling Indonesia's world No.1 Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto in the quarter-finals.

Yew Sin-Ee Yi will take on either Taiwan's reigning Olympics champions Lee Yang-Wang Chi-lin or Swiss Open winners Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty for the title on Sunday (April 30).
