Zii Jia bows out of All-England

PETALING JAYA: Shuttler Lee Zii Jia's (pic) run in the All-England came to an end when he went down 19-21, 13-21 to China's world No. 12 Shi Yuqi at the Utilila Arena in Birmingham on Saturday (March 18).

Independent player and world No. 4 Zii Jia, who had won the title in 2021, had also lost in the same stage in last year's edition.

It was still the 24-year-old's best result so far this year.

With Zii Jia's defeat, Malaysia's challenge in the prestigious tournament has come to an end.

2018 winner Yuqi will go on to face either compatriot Li Shifeng or Denmark's Anders Antonsen in the final on Sunday (March 18).
