Families of Aaron-Wooi Yik consider victory a National Day gift

Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik secured a superb 21-19, 21-14 victory over Indonesia's three-time world champions Mohd Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

KUALA LUMPUR: The victory of national men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik in the 2022 World Badminton Championships on Sunday (Aug 28) not only made their families happy, it is one of the most beautiful memories for them.

And the families of Aaron-Wooi Yik are also really proud that the win ends Malaysia's 45-year wait for the first world title as well as a timely gift for the country on its National Day which will be celebrated next Wednesday.
