Third time’s a charm?: Can Malaysia’s Soniia Cheah get the better of China’s Chen Yufei when they meet for the third time in a row.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Soniia Cheah could not have asked for a tougher path after a redraw in the women’s singles competition for the World Championships in Basel, Switzerland from Aug 19-25 placed her in the same quarter as world No. 3 Chen Yufei of China.

In the new draw made on Friday following a technical error by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), world No. 29 Soniia will now take on world No. 37 Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong in the first round.
