After six failures, Kian Meng-Pei Jing finally clear first-round tie

THE national mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing finally overcame their opening hurdle woes in their seventh attempt when they beat Taiwan’s Liao Min-chun-Chen Hsiao-huan 21-16, 21-15 to check into the second round of the World Championships.

The world No. 21 gave Min-chun-Hsiao-huan no chance, sealing the win in 34 minutes yesterday.
