PETALING JAYA: Former Asian Junior champion Soo Teck Zhi smashed his way past 10th seed Vladimir Malkov in the first round of the Macau Open.
The 19-year-old Teck Zhi was a bundle of nerves in the first game but recovered strongly to beat world No.47 Malkov 10-21, 21-10, 21-14 on Tuesday.
