Azeem blazes to 60m glory at UAB Blazer Invite


KUALA LUMPUR: National sprinter Mohd Azeem Fahmi delivered an impressive performance to claim victory in the men's 60m final at the UAB Blazer Invite held at the Birmingham CrossPlex, Alabama, on Friday (Jan 9).

According to the event's official website, Azeem, who represented Auburn University, powered down the track to clock 6.60 seconds, finishing comfortably ahead of his competitors to secure first place in the final.

His Auburn University teammate Omari Lewis followed closely behind in second place with a time of 6.66s, while Nikoby Johnson of Southern Miss completed the podium after posting 6.74s.

"Bang! Senior Azeem Fahmi rolls onto victory and the No. 1 College Indoor Ranking. Omari Lewis finishes in a close second place by only six hundredths of a second in the men's 60m," said Auburn Track & Field official X account. — Bernama
