PETALING JAYA: National Sports Council (NSC) director-general Jefri Ngadirin has clarified that every Malaysian athlete heading to the Thailand SEA Games has clear individual performance goals, even though the public target is simply set at 200 medals.

He dismissed the perception that the contingent is heading to the Games without clear expectations after the Youth and Sports Ministry maintained its policy of setting medal targets without specifying the medal colour, similar to the approach used at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games based on recommendations from Nippon Sports Science University.
