Jonah smashes shot putt national record


KUALA LUMPUR: National male shot putter Jonah Chang Rigan savoured a huge boost ahead of his participation in the Thailand SEA Games in December after he bettered his national record yesterday.

At the 2025 Malaysian Educational Institutions’ Games (SIPMA) in Johor Baru, the 22-year-old athlete representing the University Sports Council of Malaysia (MASUM) registered a throw of 18.66m, erasing the earlier record of 18.46m set at the Pahang Open Athletics Super Series Championship last year.
