Sensational success: Mohd Azeem Fahmi beat nine other runners to the gold medal in his first outdoor 100m race at the Florida State University (FSU) Relays on Friday.

PETALING JAYA: It was probably another routine race for Mohd Azeem Fahmi but his 100m gold at the Florida State University (FSU) Relays on Friday was a significant start to the sprinter’s outdoor season in the United States.

Azeem clocked 10.32s in his first outdoor race, a ground-breaking success in America where the Malaysian has decided to continue his quest to dip below 10 seconds in the century sprint.
