Middle-distance athletes may spring surprises in SEA Games

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia are banking on the middle distance events to surpass a five-gold medal target in athletics at the Philippines SEA Games from Nov 30 to Dec 11.

National chief coach Mohd Manshahar Abdul Jalil said 800m runner Royson Vincent and the men’s 4x400m quartet of Mohd Saiful Safwan Saifuddin, Mohd Ilham Suhaimi, Luqmanul Hakim Khairul Akmal and Abdul Wafiy Roslan could spring the surprises in the biennial Games.
