NAAM want full backing for compound archery

National compound archery coach Adnan Ahmad celebrates as Saritha Cham Nong hugs her team-mates after Malaysia beat United States to win the women's team gold in the opening round of the World Cup in Shanghai on Saturday.

PETALING JAYA: The National Archery Association of Malaysia (NAAM) will push for the compound discipline to be included in the National Sports Council’s (NSC) programme on a permanent basis.

The NSC are only backing the compound archers for five months, which started in February, to help them prepare for next month’s Singapore SEA Games. Compound archery has never been part of the NSC programme because it is not an Olympic sport.
