Spotlighting the role of Malaysian Civil Defence Force

WORLD Civil Defence Day (WCDD) is celebrated on March 1. Declared as a global event by the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) in 1990, it honours the significance of organising and training civilians to protect lives, property and infrastructure from military attacks, natural disasters or emergencies.

The theme this year, “Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future”, resonates deeply with the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (MCDF), a government agency under the Prime Minister’s Department.
