THERE was a time not too long ago when social media was a safe and convenient platform for community interaction. It was where we’d go to reconnect with old friends, upload vacation photos or share silly memes.

Somewhere along the line, the tone shifted. Platforms that were once about connection have turned into battlegrounds for opinions, outrage and surpassing one another in cruelty.
