Tragedy calls for strengthening of mental health support systems


THE nation was left in disbelief following the tragic incident in Melaka where a 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly killing his mother and elder brother, and seriously injuring another sibling, “Teen held over double murder of mother, brother”, (The Star, June 14).

The facts are chilling. Initial reports point to past tensions in the household, possibly related to academic performance.
