Roads are lacking in maintenance

By Klang

I READ that the recent crash between a Federal Reserve Unit truck and a lorry which resulted in multiple fatalities could have been prevented with stricter safety measures and higher vehicle standards.

I believe many road accidents are caused when standards of safety and maintenance are lacking. For instance, speed bumps – or “sleeping policemen” – that act as a deterrent to speeding are not well maintained, with many losing the coloured marks that make them visible. When they essentially become invisible they could cause accidents, especially for two-wheelers.
