AFTER more than three decades, the government has finally given the green light for a long-awaited revision of general practitioners’ (GP) consultation fees.

In Malaysia, medical fees for private healthcare services are regulated by the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 (PHFSA) under two key schedules: The Seventh Schedule for private medical and dental clinics, and the Thirteenth Schedule for private hospitals, maternity homes, and haemodialysis centres.
